I have been obsessed with my planner lately simply because not only does it help me stay organised and keep track of things that I need to get done, it also allows me to be crafty without actually having to create something new.

Since the beginning of this year, I have been using Simple Stories' Carpe Diem Planner in Robin's Egg Blue and even though I have been too lazy to document it, I have this month's pages all ready to show you. :)

Hellloooo folks!!

I am back with another Throwback Thursday post! Yes, I have new stuff to share, but I am working on a larger project not related to crafting and that's the reason I am letting the new ones hibernate for now. :)

So let me go back to an old one. I made this in 2012 for Lulupu's Shabby Chic Shaped Cards Challenge and when I made this, I had never ever tried shabby chic before. So it was a challenge.

I made a card in the shape of a butterfly.. Let's start with the peeks! :)

Box Card | Lawn Fawn Stamps & Quilled Chocolates

So I have another box card for you which is one of the cutest we have made so far! This one marks one year since the couple first met. We did a little bit of a twist on the earlier box card that we made..

Girly Box Card With Black Mats

So this one was requested by my sister Ananya and her friend Navneet for their friend Komal's birthday!!! They're all childhood friends and have grown up together. Ananya was claiming her 'first one is free for family' voucher :P when she asked me to make a box card, I asked her if she wanted a theme and she told me to do whatever I wanted. I asked her if she wanted a specific colour and she said black. So I took it ahead from there.

For this box, I picked only one sheet of 12"x 12" PP (as opposed to two or three different ones that I usually use. Some cut downs for pro-bono work ;) ) from DCWV's Mixed Media Mambi Collection and this one in particular was a pretty busy pattern and went really well with the black CS layered underneath. Moumita worked on this one as well. I just assembled everything on the inside, as in, just glued them on the CS.

Hanging in a Car!

Hello everyone!!!

Today's project is highly unusual. I was asked to make something that could be hung inside a car. It is exactly what it sounds. Also, it had to be flat and had to depict a pleasant scenery of a car driving along the hillside. That was easy! Creating such scenes was all I did during drawing period in school. All I had to do was replace paint with distress ink, add some layers of paper to make it look real and do some stamping. So I decided to make a smaller version of an unframed painting with a hole pierced through it and some twine from in between so that it could be hung.

Then I thought, this thing would move around, and that would mean the other (blank) side would also be exposed, unlike a card. So I would have to do the EXACT same thing on the other side as well. And so I did.

So this box card was requested by Moumita's cousin and he wanted us to go all out with the Quilling an we did. This was a double box card - a box within a box card - so that meant double the fun!! :D :D As it was for Moumita's cousin, I thought it would be good practice for her to make the box on her own. So I haven't done a thing in this, except selection of the PPs, the design and size of the flowers, the colours of the Quilling strips etc. In short, I designed, she created. I didn't lift a finger and I loved it!! :D :D

Let's talk about the outer box first. The papers used for this were from DCWV's Mixed Media Mambi Collection - Sides and Lid. We did green on two sides and orange on the other two. The design had one large Royal Flower and two smaller Malaysian flowers with a bit of leaves on the sides. This design was a slight modification of the design used on the lid of an older box card (image below.)

Box Card | For Birthday - with Quilled Corners

What's up, people? I am back with another box card, also Quilled.. a little bit. This one was made for one of my friends' fiancée's birthday, with no specific instructions. So I picked a couple of 12x12 sheets that Karuna destashed and got this box started. 

Let's move to the pictures straight away then.. :)

On one of the sides, I cut out a piece of card stock using the large labels die, embossed it and distressed it using Crushed Olive Distress Ink before stamping the sentiment from the Words2color stamp set in Rich Cocoa Ink. And I did not colour the words :P

Rainbow Mini Album

I made this album way back in December last year. This was a gift for someone's birthday and the whole message could be done in seven pages. Seven pages = Seven colours = Rainbow Colours and that's how the album came to look like a rainbow - One colour each page :D :D

Quilled Birthday Card for Mom

I am really really embarrassed to admit when I made this card. It was September last year. I don't know how I forgot about it - like I forgot about countless other projects that I made - but I did. And thanks to this vow that didn't allow me to share any pictures till I edited all of them, I unearthed all of my long forgotten projects and I am ready to share them, even if it means it a (almost) a whole year later.

Anyway, this one was for one of my school friend's mom. He only told me the colours - blue and maroon - and that it had to be quilled. Moumita had just joined and her first assignment was to learn and make Royal flowers and husked petal-ed flowers. And she did amazingly well.

We also tried to make quilled flourishes with multiple strips in various colours and even though it didn't turn out to be quite the way we expected, we liked it! :)

Here are glimpses of the card. :)

Instead of the usual solid coil centres, we decided to add medium sized pearls.

We stamped the sentiment in the centre of the card and adhered one cluster of flowers to the top left (seen below) and the other to the bottom right.

The next page from the scrapbook is one of my favourites for numerous reasons. This page has pictures from the couple's wedding and reception. The colours in the pictures were so amazing that this blue-green mixed media paper was the best thing that would go along with it. Also, I tried something new with this, so all of those things make this page really special.

Let's start with the glimpses. :)

The page had a lot of white polka dots, so I stamped large hearts in Barn Door Distress Ink  and stitched through the center. It was a slight word play on the page title "Hearts Knit Together."

I couldn't knit, so I stitched. :)

I also stamped little hearts in Memento's Lady Bug. :)

Flip Flap Thank You Cards

Today I have not one, but five cards to share. Why am I sharing them all together? It's because they were all requested by one girl for five of her friends and they all look exactly the same, except for their colour scheme and the pictures used. In short, it's the same design in different colours. So let me get started.

When we were getting the design details straight, she requested specific colour schemes for each of her friends and when I saw that the colours co-ordinated with the pictures she gave me I was thrilled. Finally, someone who thinks like me!! :P

Anyway, as a flip flap card has a lot of area to cover, I thought why restrict the design to just one patterned paper per card? So I picked out a bunch of them and made a note of other details on a post it and sorted them using binder clips. I also picked put matching washi tapes but didn't end up using them. Here's a glimpse of the papers neatly grouped together with the colourful tapes. :)

This may seem odd but it has kind of become the norm for me. I post ALL my projects late and this one, in particular, has been neglected for far too long. I finished and couriered this scrapbook way back in October first week, last year. I shared two of the pages (out of nine) and then newer projects grabbed my attention.

But a week or so ago, I decided I had to take a stand and I vowed to myself that till I am done editing and watermark-ing ALL my older projects, I wouldn't share a single thing. Now that it's all finally done, I can breathe, so to speak. :)

I may have mentioned this before, but I'll say it again. For this scrapbook, all pages barring one, are from DCWV's Mixed Media Mambi Collection.

I used a black page for this and added some bright and colourful elements for contrast and loved the effect.

I stamped flowers and leaves in Distress Inks - Wild Honey, Mustard Seed, Barn Door and Peeled Paint - and Fussy Cut them. For the flowers, I have layered three of them to add dimension and added a little pearl in the centre and some stickles on the sides.

Scenic Birthday on the Beach! ;) With cake and roses, at sunset..

I'm back with another card I made way back in January this year. What I liked about this card was the specifics I was provided with before I began. This card was made for someone's wife's birthday and he wanted sunset at the beach or at Marine Drive (I figured making a beach would be easier :P) and two figures - a boy and a girl - the girl smiling shyly while the boy hands her a cake with a bunch of roses hidden behind his back!

Extremely specific, I know. And that's what made creating this card easy and the most difficult as well. For one, the answer was obvious - I had to distress to create the scene and even though I had always dreamed of making something on these lines, I had never actually done it.

It took about five tries to get the right tone of pink, lavender, purple and orange - Spun Sugar, Milled Lavender, Dusty Concord and Wild Honey for those who speak "Tim Holtz" and only then I was satisfied that this was something I could show other people.

Once the sky was done and ready, I used The Craft's Meow's stamp set called 'Vintage Rides' and stamped a banner and the sentiment on watercolour paper and stuck it in the sky. Let me start giving you glimpses at the card.. :)

This post is picture heavy and has extremely detailed notes. :)

Valentine's Day 2014 | Project 1 - Accordion Card

Hello people!

I am back after a really long time. It's two months late, but I am now sharing the projects that I made for Valentines' Day. Sadly, I didn't make any for my husband. :(

Anyway, this one is an accordion card and was requested by one of my friends from school for her husband, and in a rare occasion today, I am going to type less and get straight to the pictures. Lesser than normal, I meant. :P

When I was making this, I was still in love with the Quilled Creations Rose Die and I thought I'd use them here. :)

Wow, we're almost done with this series. I am kinda feeling overwhelmed!! :P I really am.. I was looking forward to sharing all the pictures and now that I am almost done, I am a little sad. However, the fact that I have two more (and I am sure by the time I am done sharing those, we'll have a few more) scrapbooks, is the thing that makes this all better.

Quite honestly, ever since I finished the Valentine's Day cards (and that was February 12th) I haven't crafted at all, not even the mess on my crafting table back in it's place. I am behind on Design Team projects (I've even missed a few and I don't feel like creating at this moment, and that's why older projects are what keep me going, what keep this blog from going idle. :)

Enough about that, though. Let's talk about this one. This page. The second last from this scrapbook.

I made this one pretty simple. Embellished with lots of MME's chipboard elements and a few PP ribbons, this page was done! It's clean, simple and elegant (I think) mostly because the background was sooo amazing that I wanted it to be visible. So without much jibber-jabber (again) let me show this to you. :)

So, Good Morning, again... :)

Another page from my 16-page scrapbook.. Can't believe there are only 4 more to go after this! Phew! Finally.. Deval must be so relieved that I am finally (almost) done sharing these. It has been long due, since August last year :)

Anyway... This page captures a few pictures from Deval's birthday! And so, I decided that the word 'Birthday' with a smiley, would be apt as the page title :) For this page, I have used a double sided 12" x 12" sheet from Echo Park's For The Record 2 collection.

Happy Birthday, Boss! | Quilled Birthday Card

Good morning folks!

Today I am sharing a card that I made way back in September last year and then totally forgot about. It is a birthday card made for someone's boss. It is colourful, fun and quilled. So as usual, I will start with showing you peeks from various sections of the card and then I will reveal the whole thing. If you've been a regular here, you would know how this works :)

So here's the first peek. The card needed to have a few two pockets on the card front so that small messages written on tags could be inserted into them. So we made two pouches one below the other and embellished them with party favours like gift boxes and party hats (we’ve stamped, coloured and fussy-cut them before adhering them on the pouches.)

Hello people! 

It has been really long since I posted and I realised that I fall behind in posting on this blog only because I am creating new stuff every week and editing pictures is a pain!! So, as a remedy, I edited all the pictures of this scrapbook - watermark and all, and what's even better is I have all posts ready and scheduled all the way till up to March! Woo hoo!!! I am loving it! :D :D

It requires mention here that I finished this scrapbook by August 10 of LAST YEAR so I have been really slow in posting pictures. And between then and now, I have finished two more scrapbooks, so I really need to speed things up. Something needed to be done and I am glad I have figured it out :)

So without further ado, let's get on to this particular page that captures pictures from the couple's wedding. :)

For the base, I have used this sheet from Echo Park's This & That Graceful 12x12 Collection. (I've used the other side as well; that's the next page in the scrapbook :D)

Scrapbook - Page #1: Cover Page

Hi Everyone!!!

The title says 'Scrapbook - Page #1.' I can see how that can be confusing considering I already shared the cover page of 5th Anniversary Scrapbook. But this is another scrapbook that I am sharing - one I finished in October first week. You see, I was waiting to finish sharing all 15 pages of the earlier scrapbook, but given the rate at which I am sharing, it may be mid-2014 by the time I am done. So to kind of speed up the process and have a little variety here on the blog and the Facebook Page, I decided to share one from each, alternating between the two. :)

In the spirit of full disclosure, I already shared this for Lulupu's Fancy Me Challenge Inspiration (Original Post here) and I am just pasting the entire content, obviously editing it as I deem necessary. So some of you may have seen this already. I chose this page as an inspiration for the challenge because, quite frankly, it fit the theme perfectly as I had used many of the techniques I fancy and use in both - card-making as well as scrapbooking. Also, now that I am slightly more comfortable with scrapbook pages than I was about four months ago, I can make something and call it my style. What's more, I have managed to capture the whole thing on video, so you can watch me make this :)

First of all, this page has my most favourite of all things... STITCHING!!! :D :D

I stitched using my Sew Easy Tool and this stitch piercer. I had just bought it a few days before I made this and wanted to try it out!!! I loved how the colours on the thread match perfectly with the Base PP, which by the way, is from the DCWV Mambi Mixed Media 12x12 Collection (Such gorgeous papers!!!) Also, at this point, I'll let you in on a secret - ALL the Base PPs used in this scrapbook are from the Mambi Collection!!! Super gorgeous!!! 

Another Accordion Card: Eight Flaps this time! :)

Hmmmm.. So when was the last post on this blog? A little over a month ago. And the project I am about to share was made even before that... September 16, to be more exact.. (According to the image details :P) But I am here and I have loads of stuff to share.

For today's project, I have another Accordion Card and this one has 8 flaps. That's a lot. The first one I made had four, the next one, six and this one eight. I have a feeling the one after this might have ten; based on the trend. I may as well call it an Accordion Album, but we'll get to that when it happens.

Anyway, this was another Happy Birthday Card from a group of friends for one special girl. Let's start with the peeks of the outside of the card, shall we?

I almost always have some stitching on my projects, but this time I decided to just do some piercings on the PP and NOT stitch. So the PP on the outside as well as on the inside has that on all four sides.

I also made a banner by folding a few circles punched out of various scrap PPs.

The card also has a lot of fussy cut butterflies.
